I need real help here and not dead ends.

I like many of you have played and enjoyed the game Flimbo's Quest until the tape died many years ago and the c64 went to the skip.

My wife & I used to sit for hours playing the game until as I say it died.

Now here's my problem over the past three years I have tried & tried downloading the game to play from PC which is now running XP loads of memory etc. I have downloaded emulator after emulator and read peoples remarks on how they play the game with this emulator and that emulator but I cant get the game to run even when I know I have the programe which is compleate.

Now I don't know if i'm on the right forum but if I am whats going wrong when I run the ccs64 emulator I type in load and it comes back telling me to press play but as the programe is on the pc and not on a tape I obviously can't go any further. Can you realy play this game on the PC dirrect from the hard drive or is all the info I've been reading over the past few years just a load of bull? If it is possible to play from PC HDD then can someone help as I cannot afford to purchase the equipment to convert from pc to tape just to play this one bloody game. As you can see this has become a bit of a mission to me and just to be able to sort out this problem would be the best buzz ever.

Please help. :(

Regards Bograt

easy to solve :) you just should have read the readme of the ccs64...

anyway, you start the ccs64 emu and then press F9 on your keyboard. the menu will appear and you chose the first device (device 8...). then you're in the file browser. just select your flimbo.d64 or *.t64 (whatever you have) and the game will start automatically

prob solved?

I only answer this because it's a c64 question, but if you can't even figure this one out yourself...... you're crazy

- Use F9 to enter menu
- Chose (using arrow keys) "1541 Device 8" for .d64 or "Tape device 1" for .t64
- Use arrow keys to navigate disks. (right arrow opens the disk)
- Use right arrow key to run a program.

update:

Just tried the game on both ccs64 (PC) and frodo (GP32). Both run great!

I know how to use the emulator but the furthest I can get to the load screen with the picture of Flimbo says loading time and has the intro music but thats all I have never been able to get any further than that.

The version i'm using continues after pushing the joystick button.

So there's 2 options:
- Your controls aren't configured properly
- You downloaded a corrupt .d64 file
