Since I've never actually handled a GP32...how well put-together is the thing? Is it built fairly ruggedly, compared to a GBA for example?

Doesnt seem too much different than gba in size and durability. I like to protect the screen with something most of the time (just in case) and I take very good care of mine. The D-pad seems a bit too sensitive though.

I stomped on mine for twelve minutes wearing combat boots and it held up.

its pretty tough, i've fumbled a few times and no damage not even case damage!

Well, I dropped my GP32 from not very high off the ground and it busted the R button!! I had to open it up and put it back together. Overall, I would say it is not as well built as the GBA, but a heck of a lot better of a game system.

Oh yeah, the battery case on the back is not held on tight enough and makes a clicking sound when you press up against it. It sounds flimsy to me
