Hiya, i've noticed a few people are having problems converting graphics as black in gigas is used for transparency which makes things a bit difficult.

seeing as its easy to change (will take all of 20 seconds) i figured i might as well make it a lesser used colour.

my vote is pink (i think its the norm) but the highest vote by tomorrow morning will win :D

nah, you can even change the transparency colour in the current version.

basically pallettes work by number, you have 256 colours (0 to 255) and i just have it set so "the colour at number 0 is for transparency", the palette is encoded within the picture itself.

so in the current graphic files its saying "black is number 0" so whenever you paint with black and export gigas says "hey, thats number zero - so make it transparent".

in other words, all the current graphics will work as they are using a pallette where zero is black, but with 0.6.5 i've changed the pallette of the demo graphic files and templates so zero is pink which makes editing easier.

so you can either

a.) carry on with your current ones

or

b.) copy and paste them into the new files (the black will automatically turn pink) and then just carry on with that.

so nothing to worry about ;)

What about an option? Menu->Transparencies lets you set different transparent colors.

the transparency colour only effects the editing of graphics, gigas doesn't even bother looking at what colour zero is, just knows anything painted with zero should be made transparent.

try and choose a transparancy colour that is well used ,but not used often in backgrounds/sprites (what colur does rpgmaker use and pick that as that would make there tilests more compatible)...
