I think he means "online".

I haven't played any online games since Meridian 59; where a 15 year old girl was playing and was approached by 2 high level characters who cast a "hold" spell on her character, making her unable to move or cast spells. They then began to type nasty comments, acting out a 'virtual rape'. It sickened me to the point of deleting my account.

The End.

To me, it sounds like RPGs played on a bulletin board, and yes, I like those, lead two of them myself. If anyone wants to start one, I'm in :)

conquerer's online looks pretty cool. Look up a korean mmorpg called tale's weaver

How exactly do you play rpg's on a board??

Well, the kind of boards we're talking about stem from a long history of computers, it's hard to explain it all decently. People would connect to these 'boards' and play text/ansi style games. The most popular are text-based RPGs, sometimes known as SUDs, MUDs, and MOOs. If you want to know more, I suggest you do a search using those keywords.

Well, those are not what I was referring to, but I've seen some of those too ;)

What I was talking about is exactly what I wrote (does that make sense? ). We do this on CNCForen sometimes; one person would be designated als "dungeon master" and leads the RPG. The players would now describe what they do, and the dungeon master would then go on with the narration. It's like an interactive story (um... basically all RPGs are interactive stories, right? Dammit.), and it's a wonderful thing to play. Sure, it's not a really speedy process, but it's fun nonetheless.

Talking about this, I have to phone some friends and convince them to play DSA (Das schwarze Auge - a German RPG much like D&D) next week, anybody in?

I'm guessing you meant you would be a DM in a chat room or something? Well, unfortunately, I figured you meant exactly what I meant, because you otherwise explained exactly what I was talking about.
