Did anybody know that Yoyo is working on an OGG Player and is almost finished? I didn't know he was working on one. Was it in the news?

Nope, it's not his secret project. His email:

yo!

*secret* project is still on the way to publishing!

currently I'm giving the final touch on an ogg player.

see ya!

Hi!

1/ My Ogg player, "Yogg" :p , will be ready very soon. In fact I'm currently listening to some music with while writing this post

Features implemented :
--------------------------
+ gp32 clock freq 133Mhz+ 44100Hz, 16 bits, stereo ogg, fixed or variable bitrate.
+ streaming : the only limit is the size of your smc.
+ playlist support (add/del to playlist from file browser).
+ "threaded" output : you can continue browsing/managing the playlist while
listening.
+ fast forward/fast rewind with 2 speed (5s/20s).
+ volume can be changed by soft (reducing or amplifying supported).
+ lock mode for usage in your pocket!
+ ogg comments (equivalent to id3 tag)

+ uses TREMOR lib to decode ogg.

Features planned :
--------------------
+ 11Khz,22Khz & mono.
+ 80Mhz and 66Mhz gp32 clock speed, when I'll have time to optimize the dynamic memory allocation procs.
+ more complete playlist manager.

+ to be defined : tell me what you want !

Tested bitrate was about 90-120Kbps and there were no pbs.
Bitrate limit should not be very different from ogg player 0.2 (LQ Soft).

2/ the *secret* project will be revealed in a few days.
In fact the development has slowdown a lot and so I'll publish the beta and
the sources, so that any good willed people can help and motivate us .
currently it's usable but not so good to my opnion... <_<

Sleep mode? So you set something going and tell the GP to go into power-saving low-clockspeed mode if its not stopped in an hour or something, just in case you go to sleep listening to music...

I'd suggest an alarm mode which'd me the opposite of that, but I suspect that'd be harder to implement. And you've got the thing about turning the LCD off being potentially harmful (although i can't see why).

On another note, adding in document viewing into the same sort of thing at the same time as MP3age could be quite a nice feature. Although its very much a gimmick. As are the other two - what you've got on the list sound absolutely brilliant :D

Look forward to ogging to school in the morning!

I was thinking maybe its an Atari 5200 emu. As this has the same chip as the nes so thats a bit of the work done already. But theres maybe a few 2 many people involved in the project for it to be just a 5200 emulator. Well i guess we'll find out in the next few days.

How about rudimentary visualisations, e.g. A unshaded version of VOX from WMP9. Or the classic bars visualisation (each bar increases in hight due to the volume in a particular frequency range. Fairly pointless, but cool. Im sure many peoples first code would theb be a visualisation. Or maybe not, I have no idea how hard this might be to code, as I have no time to learn any (programming) languages, due to an excess of exams etc.

A few like 15? Hey, he's been working on it for ages, so he might as well stick it in there, since its not only for this that were started in the 15 days... I'm sure we'll see it soon :)
