great vid! the specs are officially confirmed, this thing is gonna be a BEAST!!
i wonder how beastly the ps3 will be(which will prolly be a bigger bitch to program for).
I really can't wait!!
i've said it before I'll say it again. Historically speaking, in EVERY generation, the later or last systems to release were always more powerful. SMS after NES, SNES after TG16/PC Engine and Genesis/Mega Drive, N64 after PSX, Saturn and 3D0, Xbox after Gamecube, PS2 and Dreamcast.
This time the PS3 should be the final system released, they are really pushing for the PS2's life cycle to extend as long as possible, and are fully aware that their hardware was the weakest this time around (not that that kept them from being the biggest seller) they're really taking a wait-and-see approach for this next generation.
MS are royally screwing themselves and their customers by releasing a new system so soon into the Xbox 1's life cycle, especially since the Xbox 1 remains the MOST viable system out of the current bunch, as games like Doom 3, Riddick, and the latest Splinter Cell prove. If it's true MS will make consumers spend an extra $100 to get an Xbox 360 that is backwards compatible, they're going to piss off consumers even more. Xbox 1 system sales have still been pretty good lately, which means a lot of people have just recently bought an Xbox 1... how are they going to feel when a new system comes out so soon after they just invested like that?
95% chance I WILL own a 360 at some point but I'm not gonna be one of the first in line to get one on launch day that's for sure. I don't care much for the PC flavored games, and the price for the backwards compatible unit (a necessity as far as I'm concerned) if it's really gonna be $400 is rediculous. I'm gonna wait for a price drop and some really killer games to launch. I think the PS3 is gonna be the ONLY one I rush to pick up on launch day.
