As some of you might know by now I'm one of the organizers of the C64 X parties. Last weekend I've been very busy working at X2018. The biggest, baddest C64 only party out there. For 3 days over 400 visitors from all over the world came to Someren/Netherlands to celebrate the C64 scene with demo, gfx, and music competitions, performances, lectures, free drinks and food and a lot of cool people.

I wanted to share some of the jaw-dropping C64 releases here, if you have some spare time it's really worth it to watch the demo's. If no real hardware or emulator is available I guess you could also check out youtube. :)
I'll just link the winning demo here

Star Wars by Censor Design.

To make life a little lazier, here's a gallery with screenshots of just about all releases, that should give a nce impression.

And here's some pictures of the party

more on youtube and csdb :)

Next edition will be in 2020 and that will also be our 25 year anniversary.

Well, to be honest... The GP demo, X marks the spot is also amazing. Not so much code porn but jaw dropping gfx for sure.
I liked the Atlantis demo (#4) a lot becasuse of the humor in it....

A fck it, all of it is amazing! :D

The Star Wars demo is impressive, I enjoyed the music which is a piece of work that was really worked on.

Yeah, I was a little confused when it went a bit Bowie at the end of the first side, but the joke payoff was well worth it. I don't think all of the music on the second side was John Williams either, but I lost track slightly by then.

thanks for doing this great c64 party! <3

allready watched a lot of vids/images and wanted to ask if there is footage of gideon's x18 ultimate 64 talk.

Thanks! We love organizing it! :D The C64 scene/people is/are amazing.
Unfortunately we haven't recorded the lectures..... To be honest I completely forgot to rent stuff for registration/archiving purposes. Just about all video's and photo's are made by visitors, I haven't taken a single picture myself. Too busy.
Gideon's talk was more a demonstration of the U64 and a Q&A. The C64 debugger talk was super interesting also... That's some amazing piece of software.

This is already an older video but it gives a nice impression of what this package can do. It got even better since then.

I noted your request and will try to have recording equipment in place for 2020. Maybe @EvilDragon can come do a nice documentary as he has all required hardware. I'll arrange free admission for him :D
