Yes it should be, but don't bother asking here. What you're intrerested in is ILLEGAL*.

*Depending on the law where you live.

Not really illegal. It's very useful for security reviews.

Fair enough. In the UK at least, hacking someones WIFI is against the law and people have been prosecuted.

Oh, ah, sorry
Mods you can delete this if it`s inappropriate

I just, ah, yeah, I just wanna test the security of MY network ... uh yeah, that`s it .....

Several discussions on this topic, the thing doesn't have promiscuous mode

and stop bullshitting

(oh and btw, minus a few loopholes its illegal to play roms, so stop acting like you are mr. virtuous)

TBH I think hacking your neighbours WIFI is less of a grey area legally than say having SNES roms you don't own. Think of their download limit, you might end up costing them loads of money!

Open AP's though, it's more grey in my opinion... how do you know they don't want people to use it?

People are bitching about legality when talking about a device whose main draw is running emulators and ROMs...

Yeah.
True, I was just trying to scare him a bit. But seriously, how many people have been prosecuted for having roms (not supplying, sharing or selling)?

Up until recently in the UK it was technically illegal to rip your own CDs and put them on an MP3 player. I don't think it caused any legal cases!

distributers of hardware have always been a big target, whether they are modchips or just cards.
several rom sites have gotten taken down for offering current gen roms.'
sprite comics have gotten cease and desists countless times

I will repeat what I said:

Of course you're not going to get in trouble if they don't know. its the same way with networks

The Wifi Drivers are not Open Source and I believe Mweston has already has said it's not happening.

Why aren't the wifi drivers open source, though? Is a wifi card really something so super special awesome and special that the driver source needs to be kept a secret?

That is something you'd have to ask the chip manufacturer. Many silicon manufacturers are (overly) protective of their IP. It is their prerogative to be so. It may not be very sensible, but it is what it is. The best you can do is work around the restrictions and get on with business.
