Someone on a Drum and Bass forum told me you can use Wireless SD cards with a GP2X to acheive wireless networking, is this true? What are the possibilities?

Cheers

Since when are Techno forums a reliable source for GP2X information?

We might get some SDIO WiFi drivers, but not anytime soon, i think.

1) Thanks for the info
2) Drum and Bass is not Techno
3) They're not a reliable source of GP2X information, hence my creation of this thread

Yeah i saw that, not really the same though is it? I searched for wireless SD and got a load of stuff only using the word wireless so i searched for +wireless +SD and still got a load of posts only using the word wireless, which i thought was odd, so i made this.

If you use the search button you have to enter strings with more than (or maybe it is at least) three characters. That is why SD didnt work and all you got was "wireless" terms. SDIO would get you more info.

We will have to wait till someone hacks together drivers as it stands. I don't believe there are any open source SDIO drivers. I do not know how difficult this task would be and I don't want to immagine it myself. The SD association (or whatever they are called) have a nice lockdown on their technology with royalties, membership fees, licensing etc you have to pay to get their complete specs.

There are companies out there that have sdio for linux and it is usually kernel 2.6 ish..

We will see though
