I've taken over the 'Featured Application' box on the front page of the wiki (which many of you will have probably seen has been fairly static in the past). We don't get many votes each week and it was suggested I post here to try and make more people aware of the process.

Basically what happens is:
*On the discussion page for the featured applications, a vote is held each week from a shortlist of applications (drawn up by me), currently 3 but it may increase at some point. To vote, you simply place an asterisk (*) next to the application you wish to be featured.
*The type of application being voted for changes on a 3 week cycle. The first week is a selection of utilities, the next is emulators and then games (covers both homebrew games for the GP2X and ports). After the cycle is complete, it returns to utilities.
*To nominate an application, simply add it to the appropriate section in the lists at the head of the page. Do not remove nominations and do not add nominations to the short list. If the lists begin to grow too large, I will have to start removing entries, beginning with those applications that were previously on the short list and failed to gather enough support to make it onto the front page and those which have been on the nominations list for a long time but never have been selected.
*I ask that if you wish to nominate an application, you make sure there is an appropriate wiki page for it. This is not essential, but nominations for applications without a wiki page will not be eligible to appear on the front page until a fully written, well formatted article is produced.

Other wiki matters
1) The project to clean up the wiki is now under way again and I invite anybody to join in and help rewrite poorly written pages, reformat messy information and remove useless or inaccurate information (lists in particular are a huge problem for the wiki).
2) Emulator compatibility pages on individual emulator pages are not to be added/updated. We have set up a nicer system for storing this information which means it won't become outdated and confusing and simply makes it much easier to find the games you are interested in. The repeated updating of the old table lists on emulator pages could result in editing privileges being removed for a short period of time. If a system needs specific information, I am more than happy to arrange specialised templates and if you are struggling to add a system, let me know. Please read the rules for the compatibility lists carefully so we can avoid them becoming a mess like some of the old style ones :).

How about rather than vote on the wiki, you open a poll here every week, in the GP2X General board? Even more people would participate then. Nominations in the wiki, voting on the forums :)

I'm going to try and contribute to the emulator compatibility pages whenever I can B)

Someone correct me if i`m wrong, But i`m not sure that the boards poll system would be able to accommodate all the entries, Just a thought.

All the entries? I thought Orkie said it would be typical 3 - 4 entries?

Also, I hate editing wiki pages just to add a "*" to a name of a program. A poll would be far friendlier.
