Wifi Trouble

Hello everyone,

First off, I would like to say how much I love my pandora. Its an amazing device! I am very excited about all of the possibilities that come out of "opening pandora's box" ;) I have all of my favorite games on the sd card and cant wait to play them again. Plus I love the idea of having a little linux box that I can carry around with me.

Howerver, I am having some troubles with my wifi. It started out working but it was spotty at best. Then two days into having my pandora, no networks would show up when the wifi was turned on and the wifi light doesnt come on. It should be seeing 5 or 6 networks to connect to and it did before the problem started, however nothing shows up now. I have not done any hardware hacks nor dropped the device nor have I done anything funny software related.

I tried restarting the pandora and taking the battery out for 20 minutes. I also tried the new wifi driver beta and the HF5 RC1 to no avail. Then tonight, I also tried to reflash the firmware, but no luck.

I noticed voytas on the forum had similiar issues. Does anyone know if he fixed it or had to get it replaced? I hate the thought of having to get my pandora replaced as I've grown quite attached. I would be the happiest person on earth if this is fixable by me. If it is a hardware problem, what is the protocol on that? Can anyone please help!?! Thanks in advance.

I tried sudo /usr/pandora/scripts/op_wifi.sh and only got one line in return that said

"Starting WL1251 MAC80211 Wireless LAN driver: wl1251"

I did a dmesg > error after that and got this

Just chiming in to report that the exact same issue occurred today after 10 days of no problems.

Tried removing battery and reflashing with HF5RC2, no dice.

<whinge>

I impulse-bought this premium unit so as not to be Pandora-less for weeks while my pre-order (the one I tinkered with and broke <_< ) is away for RMA. Compared to the first, this unit is indeed premium. Shoulder buttons and nubs are perfect and everything works like a charm, even with the stock firmware with which it shipped.

Turned out to be too good to be true. *sigh* :(
