wifi driver for TP-Link TP-WN823N Ver 3.0

@peelie2019 Might be. Did you opkg update; opkg upgrade your installation?

It's just the *.fw / *.bin (firmware file/binary blob) you just can grab it from any running Linux installation or from the net. This is what I did for my TL-WN821N.
Put it next to the others and it should work.

Ok, so after reading the last messages of: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=244066

You need to get the firmware files from:

Code:
$ apt-cache search 8192eu
firmware-realtek - Binary firmware for Realtek wired/wifi/BT adapters

The *.deb files are nothing but good old ar files, which can be unpacked with:

ar x {file.deb}

Code:
ar x firmware-realtek_20190114-2_all.deb

And put the *.bin in your Pandora in:

/usr/lib/firmware/rtlwifi/ (wrong directory! Sorry!)
/lib/firmware/rtlwifi

* Realtek RTL8192EU Bluetooth firmware (rtl_bt/rtl8192eu_fw.bin)
* Realtek RTl8192EU non-WoWLAN firmware (rtlwifi/rtl8192eu_nic.bin)
* Realtek RTl8192EU WoWLAN firmware (rtlwifi/rtl8192eu_wowlan.bin)

Checking where/how to blacklist on Pandora. (as the link to Arch says)

/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist* ?

To help you out further, can you enable USB power, then plug it in, and give us the last lines of the "dmesg" command?
What is the output of "lsmod"? Do you see something there?

usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Realtek
usb 2-2: SerialNumber: 00e04c000001

with lsmod i only see 8188eu

i copied debian binary to /usr/bin/firmware/rtlwifi/ and renamed to rtl8192eu_nic.bin

edit/ found the right bin file and copied to /usr/bin/firmware/rtlwifi/

That is weird, do you have the latest Firmware? I've reinstalled the latest a while ago and the directory is there.

Versions after Super Zaxxon 1.52 come with an online operating system update utility: Just select System -> Upgrade Pandora OS from the Pandora menu to download the latest system packages (needs working internet connection though, which might be your chicken-egg problem).

Maybe you can boot from an SD card with the newest version if .... ok, the website is down and I've got no idea where it has been relocated to.

points to the old www.openpandora.org site.

I have it still on my harddrive: SuperZaxxon176.zip 240M

website works again (it was one of my plug-ins I was testing out)

t binary in /usr/lib?
I'm so sorry! :( I gave you a wrong path! It's /lib/firmware/rtlwifi/

I mixed up my debian installation with the path of the Pandora. (you can do a find / -name '*rtlwifi*').
Put it also in /lib/firmware/ (can be with a symlink) just in case.
Then pull out the USB wifi stick, and plug it back in. It (hopefully) give more information with "dmesg"...

hi demsg giving me same messages;
when i do lsusb i get:
Code:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 2357:0109

i.e. no other identifier like i do with a wifi usb i have that does work?
Post automatically merged:

also i tried to install notaz compile (https://notaz.gp2x.de/misc/pnd/ko/3.2.63/)
but getting "invalid format error"message when trying to install via insmod command

Well, that number brings us to: https://linux-hardware.org/?id=usb:2357-0109&page=1
Which gives us a minimal supported kernel, and 2 alternative drivers.
Bad news, as far as I recall the Pandora is using an unsupported 3.x kernel at present, at least if you're using superzaxxon. I'm not sure what the state of the art is using slackware or other alternative distributions.

i tried with slackware for pandora 14.2 but seems this wifi-usb does not work out of box with this either

Others that had luck using or compiling for x86 but not form ARM:
Before try to compile it, did you try the alternative drivers mentioned in my previous post?
