Yea, any of thoes would be cool, oh yea, I looked and could not find, will the GP2X have a clock?

it would be cool if the camera could be plugged, but then there is a problem : the storage capacity (nand wont be enough....)

Well, one can apparently hot-swap SD cards. A bit of a hassle, but the pics can be stored in the RAM, and then transferred to a normal SD card.

I see no point in actually having SDIO if WiFi would not work with it. That card works with the Zodiac, by the way, so I think I'll buy it when I buy myself a GP2X :)

SDIO Camera+Digital Tv Tuner+GPS+WIFI= Drool :p

Although all those cards would end up being expensive as hell expecially since the gizmondo has a camera, gps and wifi for (ithink) cheaper. but no opensource :(

mmm GPS on gp2x. Ultimate gadget for when i get my liscence

i think the wifi one would be the only one that would be useful to me lol, i could just get a usb wifi stick and make a power thing for it tho lol

The video camera sd card would be a brillaint addition, the SoC chip that the gp2x uses has a dedicated camera processor meaning the sd camera would not need to rely on the main processor. Plus the memory problem can be solve by having the gp2x writing the images and pictures directly to the sd card. This is possible with sd camcorders produced by panasonic which have less internal memory than the gp2x.

remember.. we need drivers... and there arent any linux drivers for those cards yet, or the are not opensource :(
but we can hope that those linux pda projects will write drivers in the future

This looks promising regarding drivers. I've posted this before, but what the hey.

SDIOWorx

SDIOWorx is an OS independent embedded SD/SDIO Stack architecture framework, which enables software designers to develop and integrate SDIO support in the end products. The initial version of SDIOWorx is supported on embedded Linux versions 2.4 and 2.6 and uITRON 3.1.

The SDIOWorx under Linux comes complete with driver support for SDIO Host controllers and client cards/devices conforming to SD specification 1.10. The software components in the Embedded SDIOWorx framework support SDMemory and SDIO controllers/peripherals in an embedded device.

OK at the GP2X acording to the specs of there site says it suports SDIO , so will this work with it. Just wondering...
GP2X is not SDIO. It would have been great, but Gamepark confirmed that it is not.

When, where?

EDIT: found this post but it does not say thats its NOT supported, just no software for it, unless im reading it wrong...

Well, sorting through the broken English,
When we talk about supporting SDIO,we support SDIO interface cards (ex SD LAN card,SD bluetooth,SD camera and so on,)
However Since we dont have program to be read now we only support SD card.but if many developers make it, it could be possible.
it sounds like they do have support in hardware, but because they currently have no drivers they can't honestly say the GP2X as a whole does support it. On the plus side, this makes the lack of support something that can be fixed with a firmware upgrade. If the hardware did not support SDIO, then there would be no way to fix it. Since the gp2x runs Linux, "all" that needs to be done is find an existing SDIO driver for some other Linux handheld and port it just like a game (note the quotes around "all" ;))

Don't know if I've misunderstood, but This list of SDIO cards says
Of course, the host device for the SDIO Card will also be able to use the SD Memory Card.
Perhaps it's possible to have both plugged in at the same time e.g. the SDIO card having an SD slot and passing data between the SD card and the host device.

Any thoughts?
