While ON on AC, unit doesn't recharge after a full charge. Must be rebooted.

Hi !

It's an old CC unit with a non-functional big USB port.

So the unit is powered, charge to 100%. The charge stops, and the battery slowly gets empty to the reboot point.

Unplugging then replug the AC adapter does nothing, charge won't occur.

I reflashed, changed battery, changed charger.

I also charged with AC + mini USB (didn't try mini USB alone).

Is that a known behavior on certain units ?

Is there a cure/workaround.

Does it power up when you connect the charger while it is shut down?

Does it really not charge or does just the light not turn on?

Hoho !

Something pretty interesting:

I forgot to mention that the unit was running the CPU stress test.

I stopped the test, then plugged back the AC, the unit is now in charge !!!

I also see a lot of "battery temperature out of range" in dmesg.

Maybe it ran hot while doing the stresstest and consumed a lot of power, so the battery ran hot, too.

Could be that the chargingcircuit refuses to charge the battery if it is too hot to not damage it.

There should be no loading issue.

We did a charging test over night.

Don't know about the stress test problem. It's interesting.

That "battery temperature out of range" means the power chip thinks it's overheating, it always stops charging at that state. Why it thinks it's overheating is another question..

Just made a new test, without unplugging AC, only stopping the CPU stress test: charge resumed.

So maybe the stress test overheats some units to the point the charge is safely stopped ?

I have to say that indeed this unis is hotter than another i test next to it.

Here's what i did: i unplugged the unit, which was on AC, running out of battery, not charging, and cpu testing.

I put it outside to cool it down.

Took it back a while after, plugged on AC: charging.
