BUT doesn't it reorganise all your folders into artist/album/track which would render it useles to me as i need my folder structure kept the way it is

Only if you tell it to, I like the way it organises though.

When you choose to view an album it is sorted by track by default :/raven posted on Sep 14 2004 at 11:10 PM said:I mostly play my music by album because most albums have been recorded in a certain order for a reason and IMO sound better that way, so I don't feel the need to organise my music by anything else than artist, album and track.
I'm just using my computer as a cd-player with all music built-in, I navigate the old-fashioned way with a remote-control

Albums only seem to group an artist's recordings by time (and therefore mood, influences and style), I have doubts about the importance of the order of its individual tracks.
RE songs fading into each other - true, it happens a LOT less in rap music but I can see how it would occur. Most media players now crossfade tracks regardless of their order, ruining this effect.declaration posted on Sep 15 2004 at 06:51 PM said:You'd be surprised about how seriously bands/ artists take the order of songs on albums. Some albums tell a story and some songs blend seamlessly into others.
In these situations correct song order in an album is essential.

And that's where the remote comes inRico posted on Sep 15 2004 at 06:15 PM said:Regardless...while I understand your philosophy I disagree, as some albums have skippable tracks - there is no point in listening to poor tracks so you can reach the better ones.
Well you are a pretty dumb person. Hey, maybe you should use something called 'argument' to back up your claims. Mattmagoo pretty much summed it up with the skits thing. I do not want to listen to an album as if it were one giant 70 minute song.bringoutthegimp posted on Sep 15 2004 at 08:41 PM said:Rico posted on Sep 15 2004 at 07:42 PM said:If an album is designed so that you MUST listen to it in order, it's badly designed IMHO.
that was a pretty dumb comment.
