I've been looking for a Saturn modchip for a while because I'm going to get a Sega Saturn soon. The problem is that I don't know where the best place to buy one is. I live in Canada, so I'd prefer a Canadian or American source.

Edit:

I'm getting a model MK-80000. I already have the necessary tools and skills for opening up the console and soldering. A Saturn modchip probably wouldn't need much soldering, though. I might need to buy a RAM expansion and another controller as well.

Great guy and a brilliant store. Only works with circle buttoned/32-pin saturns though I think. Most oval buttons are 20 pin. The chip can be made to work but I'm not sure how and it is supposed to be really hard. You'd be safer buying a circle button model, only one wire to solder then (and I didn't even solder it, just crimped lol).

Email racketboy for confimation on all this though, its been a few years from I was into the saturn scene.

EDIT: Racketboy actually has some guides up too;

64-pin looks like a bitch though.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting one with oval buttons... I'm going to pick my Saturn up this week, so I'll know what modchip I'll need when I get it, I guess.

I used to have a Sega Saturn in 2003. I had a few games, but I can't remember the names of all of them. One was Mr. Bones, and another one had cutesy animals on the cover. I wish I knew the name of that game so I can find another copy. I also remember having a copy of Bug!.

I used to have off-world interceptor on the PS. I have to find the Saturn version...

Well that chip will work on the oval button Saturn but they are usually 64 pin. TBH for all the money you would pay for a second hand Saturn I'd just buy a 32 pin model 2 version.

Unless you're handy with a soldering iron, I'm a bit useless lol.

I'm REALLY good at soldering. I've had years of practice, and I'd probably have a lot of fun with it. I'm paying $40 for my Saturn. It comes with everything except a game. It's the lowest price I've seen locally. I usually see them for $70, though I found one for $20 (I didn't know if it worked or not, it didn't come with anything and was in poor shape.)
