Hi i just found my original sam&maxx game after hours of searching ...and now the gpscumm site is down...so is there an alternative site? i really need it bad...

DJ willis does a cool version, with partial ogg support, have a look in the beta forum.

yeh but a word of warning

the other gpscummvm has a much faster cursor speed but is more overclocked but is better but when i switched to it the other day i found for some reason the save states were not compatable like they should be.i tried converting them with the real scummvm on windows but no luck.

i had to start all over again on all my games so its worth waiting for the 1st type to come back.......

or ask someone for it lol ;)

Which games, out of interest? Monkey1, I know, doesn't save properly, but I know I've used saves from it with ScummVM windows and vice versa for Sam and Max (to get past Whack a Rat, which just kept jamming).

To get monkey1 to work with it, you need to hex edit the .fxe, search for Monkeyvga and set the last character to null (0); that way its not trying to go outside the bounds of the 8.3 filesystem.

Of course, it could be due to DJWillis' one being based on either Scumm 5.x or 6.x (I forget which), whilst Ph0x's was done with the 3.x sources...

Spot on,

ScummVM does not allow for down wind compatibility with saves, 0.5.1/0.6.0 saves (My versions) WILL NOT work on the 0.3.1 based port that Ph0x started. 0.3.1 is even too old to do a direct upgrade in most cases so you might have to install 0.4.0 on a PC as a middle step (can’t be sure on that).

Just for the record (again) my port is partly derived from Ph0x's sources.

Ph0x’s older version ports are known as gpScumm, all my newer releases are ScummVM for the GP32, it was my way of trying to avoid confusion but as you can guess it never worked ;).

DJWillis, is the version that you have out right now stable, or should I use GPScumm?
Your call on that one, the cursor is slower, OGG support is slow but for normal games it is perfectly stable (as stable as gpScumm anyway). It also supports Loom VGA with OGG talkie audio at near full speed, which was the main 'proof of concept game' for that release.
