What To Do...?

I should have added, I ried to upload MP3's with GPDrive. They didn't work properly, and it made some errors on the SMC.

Hmmm. I've noticed that on things that don't work, the PC Link program pauses when copying over files. I just tried to upload 2 MP3's, and one hung up halfway through transferring. Incidentally, it resets the MP3 player halfway through the song... The other MP3 lagged near the end of the transfer, and it resets near the end of the song. Also, the game I downloaded lags while copying over one of the bigger data files. I wonder if I can figure out another way to upload files...
It sounds like a dodgy cable /bad connection to me. Try a SMC card reader they are cheap and much easier to work with anyway (just drag and drop files)

Alright. I bit the bullet and ordered a SMC reader/writer. I figure I'll be able to get most of the full experience this way. I guess the only thing I won't be able to do is download games from JoyGP, since I guess I can't install them using a SMC reader.

At least the connection is solid enough to let me install the freeloader and other small things. Seems like anything over 4 or 5 MB isn't going to happen, because as I said, it keeps taking long pauses while copying large files, which in turn corrupts them.

I wonder if there's a way to treat the .zpk's and .fpk's like archives, and pull the files out manually?

...And a quick Google search later, and yes, there is a program that opens .fpk and .zpk files. It even shows the path that the files go in. A little more work, but it sure beats paying $30 for a game that I don't know if I'll like as opposed to $8.

Mine times out copying over big files.
I just have to move the mouse on my computer and it is fine as it is something t do with my computer shutting down the usb ports!
Its annoying if I forget to go back to my pc and move the mouse!!!!!!
