I was in GameStop today, and I saw these little handhelds with 50 built-in games. I thought it would just be filled with crappy tetris knockoffs, but it actually has a version of Bust-A-Move! Does anyone have this? Is it worth getting? I think it would be nice because I'm a bit nervous carrying my GP2X around with me everywhere, but, since this thing only costs $40, I wouldn't mind it getting beat up a bit (Also, I expect the battery life would be better than the GP2X's.).

Is Bust-A-Move good on it (that's what I'm most interested in)? How's battery life?

Thank. By the way, here's the website.

Never heard of them, but I may get one just for the Space Invaders, Burger Time, and Puzzle Bobble clones.

Here is a review of the Caplet and Tablet versions

EDIT: Didn't see the other versions review.

EDIT2: Another review for the Caplet version:

I got the VG Pocket Max 75 for very, very cheap a while ago. It has a lot of the same games on it, or at least the same type. It's quite fun, but I've really stopped playing it recently. I'll probably just give it to my cousin since I'm rather obsessed with my DS Lite as of speaking :D

I think the games are like pc enginestyle, and a game has no big difference between f.e. level1 and level2
Because the creator of the gameconsole, didnt spent enough time to have a good big/large game. (this why to have a low cost console)
Btw I own 35 in 1 old "vgpocket" console in holland has a different importer Spectron.

The creator of the old vgpocket game (and prolly the new ones)... is jungletac

Jungletac's products (hasnt updated for a min. half year)

Seems GameStop has reduced the price to only $30. :) I picked one of the Caplets up for Christmas. It's really nice; Puzzle Bobble, Space Invaders, and Burger Time are very faithful ports (Puzzle Bobble has a little slowdown, but it's not bad). High scores do not save, which kind of sucks. Also, it has a bunch of clones of popular games--Tetris, Zooma, Space Harrier, Outrun, Sudoku...

Apparently it supports TV-Out, too. :p I'm going to pick that up along with the official case. Nice little device. :D

I saw one in a local Gamestop as well, sometime about a month ago. It was still $39.99, so I passed, but I do intend to pick one up eventually. I like these little gadgets :D

It's a neat little distraction. And because it's so cheap, I can take it with me and not worry about it like I would with my GP2X or micro. Also, it has a 320x240 screen, which is crazy. The screen's very bright and colorful. And not a stuck pixel in sight (hear that, Sony? ).

My wife, knowing how I have a passion for hand held portables, gave me a “Caplet” for one of my Christmas presents. I have the VG Pocket Max and the VG Pocket 50. This new incarnation of their VG Pocket is a great improvement! It now has a pause enabled for some of the games, but still no game or high score save. (Maybe on the next one.) The games seemed to be a lot better polished and feel more like they are closer to being finished than the earlier VG Pockets. The graphics are better, maybe it is because it is supposed to be 16 bits. It feels like they spent more time on this one to give a better product. Having the three licensed games is a very good plus. It is a great little “arcade game quick fix” to carry around with you. Especially standing in a long line at Walmart or sitting in a waiting room. The screen still amazes me on these things. Overall a neat little package. Walmart has an after Christmas sell on them right now locally at $29.99. Well worth the price if you are like me, I love a new little gadget. :D

Just a little something I found out last night.

I wanted to see what the games on the Caplet looked like on my TV. I did not want to spend the money on the pack that included the case and TV out cable. I have the VG Pocket Max and VG Pocket 50, they both came with a cable for TV hook up. Same A/V cable jack on all systems. I tried it and they would not work! Hmmm...... so I switched the Yellow and White plugs, putting yellow where white goes and white where yellow goes on my TV inputs. Ah Ha, it works!!! Why did they do this? Did they actually think that I would not find out and go out and purchase their additional package?

The graphics look real nice on the TV. :)
