A minute ago I found a cable in my house which looks like this:
_________
\o o o o o/ o=opening
- \o o o o/

Looks like a cable you use for your monitor or something. The other side of the cable can be put in the GP2X Ext. ofcourse. Is this usefull for the GP2X?

If it's a GP2X cable then yes, however if you 'just found it' then I'd say it's a serial cable for something else (the connector is used on some mobile phones and elsewhere no doubt.)
Don't try hooking it up as you don't know what pins are connected to what

Owyeah, a serial cable :) now I know it again :D, I'll try to find out what it is ment for. Strange that a phone uses such thing btw...

I tried looking it up on the 'net, but couldn't find anything. My guess would be that the data would probably be incompatible. You can give it a shot, plugging it in, but who knows what could happen. I would say nothing, but do ya feel lucky, punk? ;-P

I think nothing happens. What could happen? I'll give it a try, next thing in the morning :D

ermm ..

#1: the EXT connector on the GP2X is a cell-phone component, commonly used.

#2: don't plug it in! there are a *lot* of signals on the GP2X EXT connector, and some of them may not enjoy being plugged into each other .. if your cable has, for example, a whole bunch of pins grounded together, you may end up sending (for example) the TV power to the USB Data-In, and .. *pof* .. frying something.

in short, open up the cable, use the connector to build yourself a proper GP2X cable, per the details in the wiki .. but don't just assume the cable will work, and that it isn't dangerous to plug it into your GP2X, because it is ..
