I realize now that I don't really want a breakout board that bad, i mainly just want a cable with a female usb port and a tv out cable that goes into standard red yellow and green inputs on modern telivisions. Does anyone in North America sell a cable like this. I know ArtTaylor makes these cables but because of the weakness of the dollar it would cost me 50 dollars plus however much shipping costs to get this cable wand at that price i would just get a breakout board. Also if nobody makes these then my other question is how easy would it be to make one myself? (I have no experience with wiring at all).

If you do not mind some adapters you can get everything that you need at a standard electronics store. I have a SVideo to component adapter, then just a 1/8" stereo to phone adapter. They are about $5 each or a buck or two off of ebay.

Also does anyone else get noise in there video from TV out cables? Here is a screen shot http://hillbillyarcade.tripod.com/gp2xstuff/

I know that I can get an svideo to composite adaptor but im more curious about whether how to have both a female usb cable and the tv out cable be on one cable that connects to the external port so that I can play mame on my tv with my gamepad for minimal cost and using minimal space.

Yes, I have instructions here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=34309

Get the micro filter circuit, it will fit in the cable end of the TV-Cable, then a USB extension lead to cut the end you need off of.

I think you mean red/white and yellow video cables, just use a TV-Out cable or a Samsung e810 and make the TV come out of them. I highly recommend a 3.5mm A/V jack like those found on a camcorder, it makes everything much cleaner when you need just the USB, and it keeps the cord mess down because you will only have a standard camcorder A/V cable instead of an adapter and extra cabling.

Good luck.

so the samsung e810 will plug into the ext. port?

Edit: That guide doesnt seem to show how to add a tv out cable to the cable. I dont want hard drive or usb hub or any of that crap. Just female USB host port and tv out both on one cable.

OK, you will notice that I merely plugged a hub into my USB host port, to demonstrate it's usefulness, it isn't necessary for function of my mod. As for adding the TV-Out, I didn't bother because it is just connecting a few wires, no magic, just work.

Here is a pinout. http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/USB_Host_BoB_Schematic

Just connect the TV to the proper pins, for S-Video to video adaptor http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Image:Bob_video.png , it is just a 10uf cap bridging the S-Video out, then it makes a regular video port.

Then a filter to the 2 USB data lines and a ground,

Either connect the 3.3volt to the USB, or arrange for 5 volts to power it, that is what my 4x NiMH battery pack is for, it makes a nominal 4.7 volts on fresh NiMH.

For some detail shots of a Samsung connector look here: http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/SamsungE810Cable

I think it is the best choice if you need all the pins (or more than the TV-Out cable). Of course you could get two TV-Out cables and see if the pins from one will fit in the other, adding the 3-4 more necessary for USB.
