I have 4 USB slots in the back of my harddrive... there is one pair near the top and one near the bottom.
When I right-click on one of the 4 things above, I get 4 options:
Disable
Uninstall
Scan for hardware changes
Properties
I tried plugging my GP32 in, turning it on, and then clicking on "Scan for hardware changes". A little box would pop up for a few seconds saying "Scanning plug and play compliant hardware". Then it dissapears.
I also tried uninstalling one of the "SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller"s. For some reason, one of the "USB Root Hub"s was automatically uninstalled along with it.
As soon as I restarted the computer, however, new hardware magically appeared and automatically installed itself, and what do you know, it was "SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller" and its friend the "USB Root Hub". This was even though my GP32 was connected and turned on at the time. My computer just doesn't recognize it!
Well, I decided to try my luck at installing the driver for it anyways. I already told you what happened when I tried to install gp32usb.inf from the GBAX cd (in the post above). Well, I found that there was a newer version for Win2k and XP at
http://users.skynet.be/firefly/gp32/projec...32usb/index.htm .
I downloaded it. There were 3 files included in the zip:
gp32usb.inf
gp32usb.sys
RwBulk.exe
When I tried double-clicking on RwBulk.exe, a large black window flashed on my screen for a split second, but nothing else happened. When I tried to right-click on gp32usb.inf and install it, nothing happened at all.
So alright, I decided to try GPLink anyway (I tried with the "deluxe" long-filename version that's on the GBAX CD... strange that it's SMALLER in size than the original one by 500kb  ). When I open it, a window pops up saying
"Please connect with GP32 and set it to PC-Link mode
if ready press OK button"
I do that, and press OK. Another window pops up, saying "failed to open USB connection".
Right.
As you might have figured out by now, I have almost no idea what is wrong, so I'm posting absolutely EVERYTHING in this message in the hope that somebody will notice something that I'm doing wrong.
Please PLEASE HELP!!!
