My Pandora currently has Zaxxon hotfix6. I want to update to the latest, and I found the http://www.openpandora.org/firmware/ website, but I'm not sure which files I need. Do I use the pandora-rootfs.tar.bz2? From reading tutorials I know I have to unzip the firmware on my sd card root and hold R while powering on, I just don't want to use the wrong file and mess up my unit.

Thanks for any help. :)

Ah, thank you! I do have the codec pack from a while ago, has it been updated?
Thanks again

I don't think the Codec Pack has ever been updated since original release..

May this question is a bit stupid, but I didn't found an answer. How do you know what version do you have without reboot?

thanks!

^ I don't think you can (could be wrong though), my first thought was to view the boot splash image, however it seems that it is compiled into the firmware so that's a no go http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?/topic/10585-where-is-the-bootsplash-kept/#entry196827.

Edit: having thought further the info could also be stored in one of the firmware files, though i'm afraid I don't currently know which one.

Further edit: Have only found Angstrom version stored in firmware files so far, uname displays Linux + uname -r displays kernel version.

Wow! It was not so stupid, hahaha  :D

I rebooted, and I saw i have super zaxxon 1.52 and kernel 3.2

How do I know if I have, hotfix bla or hotfix blu?

It would say if it was a Hotfix on boot up..

There is a file in /etc/ called op-version.

It contains version numbers, the git hash, a timestamp, and various other information.

*checks*  Ooh, good to know.   Hmmm Tag Name is still sz_beta5a even though I'm running the latest 1.52 with all the available opkg upgrades...  oops! ;)
