I have two problems so instead of starting 2 posts i thought id combine them, so problem 1-

i have an ac adapter but its not 'regulated' so when i use it i get faint lines scrolling sideways across the screen, similar to if your battery is about to die but with out the screen failure. will using this adapter harm my gp32 in anyway, i heard your supposed to use a regulated adapter but cant find one anywhere.

problem 2-

on my laptop i have a media card reader/writer built in, when i put my smc in it reads the files fine, but if i transfer stuff from pc to smc the programmes wont work on the gp32. is it faulty?

cheers

problem1: i don't know if its realy good for your gp if there are lines on the screen like the batterys would be low.
maybe i can destroy your gp? i don't know. its possible that the number of volt is to low which the adapter is sending out. and i think that this isn't good for your gp. but i dosn't know it. soory. ;)

Problem 2: Have you got any other devices that use an SMC, i.e. digital camera etc, if so try uploadin pics onto that SMC and see if they can be viewed on the camera.

Also what prgrams wouldn't run when you transferred them from the laptop to SMC via the reader/writer?

cheers everyone for the ac adapter help. ernest, i only use smc for gp32, my camera uses xd cards, whatever i transfer, be it emulators or roms they just wont start up. i had a problem with my smc today and had to format, for some reason my external reader/writer(that i normaly use) wouldnt format it so i tried the built in one on my laptop, before it started the formatting it asked me to choose either FAT or FAT32. could this be the reason? oh yeah i forgot. i have used my smc to take some zip files off another hard drive to put on my laptop cause i have no floppy drive, and that worked fine so its not the internal reader/writer on laptop
