My 1st success with Vdub+movie park a 78MB Matrix i was very impressed a £150(FLU version) hand held could even do that. I birghtened it a little in Vdub filters and a little in movie park settings to make the very dark begining watchable but the black was washed out and the over all colour was off. Since ive compressed The Mummy With Vdub with almost exaclty the same settings (it was a slightly shorter movie so i uped the video bit rate by 30). This time i was shoked being an all over brighter movie it was amazing (considering the system) with vibrant colours.
Now was it the extra 30kbits (from Matrix 98 to Mummy 128) that made such a big difference or is there other settings i need to raise along with brightness and contrast to keep colour depth and stop blacks turning grey or is thier a Brightnes to Contrast Ratio i should be obeying to get good results. Or am i asking to much from the system?
