Tv Out Only For Videos!!!! :(

The audio cables are female so you can easily extend them with normal cables.

I wonder why they didn't use the same logic for the s-video connector, never mind cheap adapters are available everywhere.

Don't worry, it seems quite easy to switch the display from LCD to TV, so it's only a matter of time before it becomes a menu option in emu's and games :)

No point putting the option in though until the cables are available, the devs have them (for testing reasons) and the kernel supports it!

Apparently they are available at playasia.com.

hmmm, tv-out cables for devs, maybe we could donate tv cables to our favourite devs who do not yet have them.

I'd rather have regular (all male) adapter, with the yellow video plugin, not s-video. Hopefully there will be more choice down the road, cause I'm sure not all of us have s-video compatible TVs. Or were you guys saying that already?

On the bright side the female audio cables means i can use the cables from my speakers... on the dim side, it means that i can't use the same extention cables as i use on my nes. The dim side is overwhelming the bright side here.

craig how come playasia has that stuff and you, the official UK retailer does not? id really like to buy it.

it would also be great if you could research a nice adaptor for the video out cable and sell that too, it would be overall better to buy the tv-out and extension from you the same place

Question about the tv out cable.. Even if we did get it working for games, wouldn't it look like crap on the big screen.. All pixelated and what not since these emu's are for a 320x 240 display?

Um, TVs don't display stuff as sharp as any normal CRT monitor.... it takes alot more than 2x or 3x scales up to actually show any real noticeable pixelation on a TV screen. Plus, I think the Genesis at least was 320x240..... Maybe the SNES too. Idk which console did 640 first, I know the PSX did.

I heard something or other about the videos being able to play in a higher resolution on the tv then 320 by 240 somewhere or other. Is that true or was i just daydreaming.

Anybody know if there is RGB & Sync on the ETX port? Component would be dope.

Yes it most certianly is. It is one of the big selling points :)

Yes yes, then couldn't that same stratagy be applied to homebrew built for large screen as well as small screen, since people for some reason think the scailing would hurt :p. Theoretically...

If the wiki is to be believed, there's no RGB/sync on the EXT connector.

A side note to anyone who wants RCA video output ("yellow plug") - it's trivial to make an S-Video to RCA adapter - all that's needed are a couple cables to chop up and a capacitor, but supposedly that design doesn't yield absolutely perfect quality (but I'm guessing this is what most of the conversion cables use anyway).

Better detailed link: http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuit...deo2cvideo.html
(note the difference in recommended capacitors - it might be worth experimenting to find what gives best results)
