yes, adata
yes
yes
no
you can't

http://gp32z.com/ I recommend this site for USA purchases.

Note: when I say fullspeed, I mean near 60 FPS almost all the time without overclock

1. Gpfce .2 is a fullspeed NES emulator with savestates
2. Not good by some people, but SquidgeSNES works good enough
3. Full speed DrMDx genesis emulator with savestates/SRAM
4. Heard MK2 is about as bright as the DS Lite
5. Yes, but you need an adapter
6. Yes, AND AN SD CARD READER WITH THIS SUPPORT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
7. Yes, but returning will cost a lot, so buy from the USA if you are in the USA (basically buy from a country near or located at you).
8. Yes, GNUboy is fullspeed, so fast you could probably UNDERCLOCK!
9. Webbrowsers, yes, but getting it to work with internet connections is a bitch for now

Also no white GP2X. And buy 2500 mAh AA batteries if you buy it.

From my experiences...

1. Yes

2. The SNES emulator is decent, but you have to overclock if you want good framerates.

3. Yes

4. Very bright (some say too bright, but it is firmware related I believe)

5. I don't know

6. Yes, and check this page

7. Yes I believe so

8. Yes

9. No, there is no WiFi

...and there is no white GP2x (yet?)

I have been trying to decide if I want one or not for the longest time. The Emu scene is pretty advanced, but what original games and apps are considered great on the GP2X. Also, how easy is it to code on the gp2x? What is needed and where is the knowledge to do so.

Well, as for exclusive titles, Vectar is one heck of a game. When you get the GP2X it will include the demo of the game. After you play it, I think you'll enjoy your purchase :)

Plus, if the GP32 scene is anything to go by, original games start to emerge from the woodworks at about the same point when emulators are finished (or nearly finished) for most of the major systems.

There's a few fantastic homebrew games (Vektar, Tilematch spring to mind), but there's a lot more in the works (assuming even half of the projects announced on these forums end up coming off).

Not 100% true, I'm getting slowdowns in the GBC game "Zelda Orical of Seasons".
Rest of the games I tried run at 100% speed. (didn't try Zelda - oracle of ages yet, but expecting the same slowdowns)

Shantae also seems a touch slow, but that is the most intensive game on the system. Even things like Resident Evil Gaiden and Metal Gear Solid work perfectly.

You can always overclock, too.

I've never had that and I clock the GP2X to 170MHz when playing GB© games.

That would make more sense since GBC uses an ~8 MHz Z80 workalike rather than the ~4 MHz one in the classic GB. Regardless, that is great performance. I'm sure it never dips below full speed at all with the ARM920T clock at ~240 MHz.

Only thing I'll change from what people have said is that the main SNES emulator (squidgesnes) still has some issues. The speed is pretty good now, so you can play most games quite well. However, the current version has a problem with sprite layer order - basically the sprites will appear on top of each other. Some games don't get affected by this much, others do. But this should be fixed soon. The other big problem is transparencies are screwed, and I've no idea when that'll be fixed. Some games it's not a problem, but on others it is.

Finally, I don't think some of the custom chips are emulated. So some of the more advanced games will either go very slowly, or won't run at all.

But despite all of this, a lot of snes games are perfectly playable, and it's a good emulator. Just don't expect it to be perfect (yet)

Firmware problem. The GB emu is much more than fullspeed.

That's the REAL Gameboy lagging. Blame THAT hardware, Mr. I play ROMs without ever trying the real version on a GBC pirate.

You know, I never really thought about it, but I pretty much do only play roms of games which I've played on their respective original consoles...
