Hello,

I found the source code of a port of the Steam's Big Picture Daisywheel onscreen-keyboard:

To try a demo:

Here information:
https://www.npmjs.com/package/daisywheel

Here is the Github:

Would it be possible to make it works as a native onscreen keyboard on desktop and software, on a computer to use it with a gamepad? For exemple on windows the onscreen keyboard is like this:

It's not really easy to use with a controller, and I guess it's the same for the linux onscreen-keyboard.

Without wanting to inspire a remake of the keyboard layout threads, that seems rather short on punctuation for any serious use. It looks like it can be configured, but can it cope with more symbols than there is space for, by some symbol switcher for example?

The recent revival of the PGS thread makes me think this might be an option there. I don't know how practical it would be, even for simple things like text messages and chat, but it is something other than a touchscreen keyboard (like the one I am using atm) so I like it, in theory. For me it will always be less preferable than a physical keyboard even if it does allow for more than what is shown above (my guess is there is at least a shift mode).

Full desktop keyboard
Desktop inspired keyboard (some laptops, etc., Full size)
Miniature desktop inspired keyboard
Pandora/Pyra keyboard
Physical smartphone keyboard
Calculators and such
Things like the daisywheel keyboard
Touchscreen keyboard
On-screen keyboard with mouse
Cursor selected letters on screen (in some games)
Dpad and button selected letters (bidirectional)
...
Nothing

From my point of view, if there is a dedicated screen for the keyboard it's better than a keyboard on the main screen, because we can use it everytime without hiding anything.
