Hello.

I could not find "Wing Commander: Privateer Gemini Gold" on the wiki.
is it a possible request?

http://priv.solsector.net/

the source code is here I think:

http://privateer.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/privateer/privgold/dependencies/
I was unable to find licensing information, but it seems to be open source at least, so yes it can be ported.

http://priv.solsector.net/faq.htm
The next to last entry. It's GPL.

Did we talk about frets on fire yet ?

(<a href="http://http://fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/documentation/source/" target="_blank">fretsonfire.sourceforge.net/</a>)

yes, we did

http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=41960&hl=frets%20fire&st=0http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?showtopic=41960&hl=frets%20fire&st=0

I've been wondering if it wouldn't be worth trying to remake the interface with 2d graphics, to remove the dependency on opengl

Does anybody know if "Zelda Edit" is open-source? I can't find an official site for it or anything. It's something I would like try out.

There's already some games using same song of FOF without the heavyness of FOF like GuitarsOnFire (source code [http://daid.mine.nu/pub/GuitarsOnFire_0.8_source.zip]here[/url] or Guitarfun (source code Here)

Like I said before, the guys over at OpenMW (The open source Elder Scrolls: Morrowind) are really interested in porting that over. They just dont have the hardware. Someone should help them out! ;)

BTW - Arena and Daggerfall would work on DOSbox, correct?

As for porting and such goes for consoles/systems, Zophar's Domain has a big list of open-source Linux emulators (though some emulators are discontinued; ie: developers site page may be down and replaced by a "search" site; with a quick Google search, one can find the source for every emu listed there).

Source for emulators: http://www.zophar.net/linux.html

I was going to add a reference somewhere in Wiki but this doesn't seem to have a place anywhere, as it's more an intelligible suggestion for places to look for source code.

I'd love a port of this gp32 game, but there's no source & no contact for the author. I spent countless hours with this game, If anyone knows how to contact the author please let me know as i'd love to compile it for the dingoo as well.

I have done a little digging around for you; there is another forums (GP32 related) but it's in French. I couldn't get anything out of it, but it had a lot of results and the other forum you linked to didn't. But, I think something's lost in translation (well, since those forums also appear to be using French slang, Google doesn't pick it up - actually it's comparable to try and translate Canadian French to English, it can't be done accurately cause it's not native - back on topic).

Now, two names I got out of it (this is where things get interesting):

Ah Catsmanga Daioh - taRo (developer matches program)
Azumanga Daioh! - taRo (developer matches same program, different name!)

Ok, so it's known by various names (again, the whole language barrier in mind). The latter in Google search yields more results. I was unable to find anything... have they released any other games that may have gained a lot of attention (I search the developer specific name and it yields strange results in Google)? If so, then you may have a better chance of tracking a source file somewhere.

The whole point of a wiki is that everybody can add things. You don't need me to do it for you. :)

What about Streets of Rage Remake? It's a game initially developed on Fenix game development language, now I think BennuGD. Game Park Holdings gave them a Wiz for free to port it, so the Wiz port is going to be official.

What about sending a Pandora to Bombergames?

A Pandora to BennuGD main developer should be probably mandatory, as a proper port for Pandora of his evolution of Fenix is necessary. He even started a BennuGD development contest for PC and Wiz (because GPH is sponsoring it), so maybe a Pandora one could be nice to have ;)

Im not sure if this was requested before (nothing came up when i searched), and i don't know if there's an ARM compiler for Java, but if someone has free time on his hands, please port OpenOffice.Org.
From what i know it does run on the N900 and N810, and the source code is available here:

http://download.openoffice.org/source/index.html

A port you're gonna love.
Carmageddon 2
I would pay for that ;)

Demo video to remind you of the good old days

!!!!!!!! must have!

Forgive me, this is my first post and Im not very savvy when it comes to Wiki editing, so Im posting my port request here instead...

I was wondering whether a port of Ay_Emu would be feasible... For those not in the know, its essentially a audio media player, but specialises in playing ZX Spectrum music formats... It also plays most well known music formats too like midi, mod, xm, etc, including many standard sound formats (eg: wav, etc)... The webpage for further info can be found here:

http://bulba.untergrund.net/emulator_e.htm

The program is Windows, but the source code has been modified for some cross compatibility, and a linux version has thus been created.

Source code for the last stable version can be found here:

ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/bulba/Ay_Emul29b9.src.7z

experimental version 3 source code can be found at:

ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/bulba/Ay_Emul30alpha11.src.7z

If neither or these links help, you can view the webpage, which lists the source code for most of its versions and other tools at:

http://bulba.untergrund.net/progr_e.htm

...Iv been using this media player for the last couple of years now for general use and for listening to my ZX spectrum music collection. The player is a must for any Spectrum fans out there who enjoy listening to AY or PT3 music, and very much in keeping with the ethos of retro generally (listening to Amiga MODs, for instance). I feel this would be a valuable tool to add to a device made for retro gaming and would love to see it ported for the Pandora...
