hallo!
ich habe es tatsachlich (trotz linux-anfaenger) geschafft tangogps (http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/repo/?pkgname=tangogps) auf meiner pandora zu installieren :)

ich sag mal wie ichs gemacht habe, anderen Neulingen bringts vllt was und andere können sagen was ich dumm/ falsch/ ineffizient gemacht habe:

"sudo opkg update"
"sudo opkg install <url des ipk packages auf angström repository seite>"

habe so schritt für schritt alle packages installiert, die für tangoGPS nötig sind (ca. 5 Stück, die der standard Pandora fehlen), dann schließlich tangoGPS selber. An einer Stelle hat der installer gemeckert, dass es einen Konflikt mit bereits installierten Dateien gibt, ich habe deshalb ein Überschrieben erzwungen:

"sudo opkg --force-overwrite install <url des ipk packages auf angström repository seite>"

Nicht gut, ich weiß, aber ich wusste mir sonst nicht zu helfen und will wissen ob tangoGPS funktioniert.


Nach der Installation habe ich im Startmenü den Eintrag "Other/GPS & Map" mit dem ich tangoGPS starten kann. Wenn WLAN an ist, läd er sich schon von alleine Mapdaten von openStreetmap herunter und man kann auf der Karte zumfahren und zoomen wie z.B. bei google maps, yay!


So weit so gut, nun komm ich leider nicht mehr weiter, denn tangoGPS soll ja die eigene Position von einer GPS-Maus bekommen (NaviLock NL-302U mit SiRF Star III Chip). Dazu ist das Programm "gpsd" nötig, das ich oben als eine von mehreren Abhängigkeiten von tangoGPS installiert habe. Es kommuniziert mit der USB-GPS-Maus und sollte die Koordinaten etc bereitstellen. Und hier hakt es: ich bekomme keine Daten von gpsd.
Eigentlich sollte das alles Automatisch laufen (USB-Device erkennen und Verbindung herstellen) aber das tut es irgendwie nicht. Hab es manuell versucht mit "gpsd ttys0", aber da findet er das GPS-Device nicht.

Lange Rede, kurze Frage:
wie kann ich herausfinden wie mein GPS-Empfänger heißt bzw welche Verbindung ich ansprechen muss? [Hab den GPS-Empfänger über einen USB2.0/1.1 Hub an der Pandora hängen, das GPS Device macht soweit ich weiß nur USB1.1 was der größere USB-Anschluss der Pandora nicht unterstützt]

Weiß jmd Rat? Danke jedenfalls schonmal an jeden, der es bis hierhier gelesen hat :)

Fertig editiert, das waren alle Infos die mir evtl. Brauchbar erscheinen...
 
Du musst gpsd das Device mit vollständigem Pfad angeben, also z.B. /dev/ttyS1 .
Auch ist die Schreibweise wichtig, /dev/ttyS1 und /dev/ttys1 sind nicht das selbe. Linux unterscheidet bei Dateinamen immer zwischen Groß- und Kleinbuchstaben.
 
Kleiner Tip bezüglich dmesg: um den ganzen unnützen Kram vor dem Anstecken eines USB-Gerätes zu sparen, der bei dmesg erscheint, kann man vor dem Anstecken des USB-Gerätes einfach einmal als root "dmesg -c" machen, dann wird wie gewohnt der Puffer ausgegeben, anschließend aber gelöscht. Beim nächsten Start von dmesg werden dann nur die inzwischen neu hinzugekommenen Statusnachrichten ausgegeben. Also ungefähr so:

dmesg -c
[USB-Gerät anstecken oder sonstige zu testende Aktion ausführen]
dmesg > bla.log

und bla.log in den Beitrag rein. Das wird dann übersichtlicher.

wohl auf meine GPS-Maus bezieht. Sie ist also tatsächlich vorhanden, nur kann ich sie bisher nicht richtig ansprechen. Ich schau mal was ich (und n mir bekannter linux-jünger) machen können, das wird schon! :)

werde fortschritte hier posten und dann am Ende vor allem einen kleinen Walk-through posten, dass man das Rad nicht 2mal erfinden muss..

Wird die GPS-Maus auch in lsusb angezeigt? (Ich geh davon jetzt mal aus..)

Im Ubuntuusers Wiki steht das hier:
NaviLock NL-302U (läuft sofort unter /dev/ttyUSB0)

Dieses Device gibt es auch bei dir. Probier das mal aus mit gpsd.
