If you don't mind the time and the server capacity that has to be invested, why not ?I wonder though if it would make sense setting up a Diaspora server for the Pandora community
Social Pandora Networking
With the paranoid US government, they could probably use that phrase to frame you for felony or as a proof you're a terrorist…I hate the government as it is anyway
you're taking that too far. Every politician that has ever spoken has said they hate something about the government. Why are you so paranoid? The only thing that anyone actually goes to jail for in this country is drug possesion. (I should know - Tennessee has a huge meth problem)With the paranoid US government, they could probably use that phrase to frame you for felony or as a proof you're a terrorist…I hate the government as it is anyway
You know, it's not a real shock for most of us. Long before prism, there was Echelon…

Careful... (Godwin's law)Jews didnt mind the gestapo either, until they went after them.
I read both articles. I still feel the same way as I did before reading them. I do not feel it is worth a bunch of protests and awarness. There are too many issues in the world that are more important (see: overpopulation) to deal with that I just dont see this as a great concern. However, if peoppe were to fight for my right for privacy, I would love to support them. But I'm confident that even if new legislation is passed or whatever, there will always be a vast majority of people that are tracked by the government simply because the government can. Remember this upraor didnt happen because of PRISM, but it happened because one man showed thqt it was already happening. If he had not done so, then there wouodn't be this sudden campeign against it. All they have to do is rename the saoftware/organization and not tell anyone about it and BAM the people think they have been victorious and the government continues as they were. I appreciate all the people at The Guardian Project and those that work on Truecrypt and everything else ment to protect my freedom. But I have no need of those services at this time simply because even if I were comoletely anonymous on the internet, if someone wanted to "take me down" all they would need to do is plant a flash drive with Child Porn or Drug Dealer phone numbers on it and there's nothing I can do about it.You didn't read the previous posts.you're taking that too far. And this if you think you have nothing to hide:

And don't comment until you read both and come back with solid arguments against this and think it over, please.

But by _not_ buying stuff, and by _not_ using Facebook, and so on .. that _puts you on the radar_.
So those of you trying to stag off the grid, are _putting yourself on it_.

I have mine running with certificates from cacert.org. Not that you can trust them any more than any other CA (although I do), but they're free and more or less widespread. On the other hand, I tried OwnCloud, it's a really nice all-in-one package (rss reader, dropbox-like data, bookmarks, task, calendar, …). I would love to get a SSL certificate and use it more actively and securely, but I can't afford it.
The FBI is not the NSA.I don't think TOR's that compromised, the FBI needed that lulzsec guy to screw up to find him.On the other hand, I tried OwnCloud, it's a really nice all-in-one package (rss reader, dropbox-like data, bookmarks, task, calendar, …).
