Spectrum Rom Problems.........

CUPC4KES

THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH.....
As i can gather speccyal wont run roms in .tzx format, but i cant find any where to get .sna or .tap files from. is there anyway of converting .tzx files to .sna??
thanks

Most PC Spectrum emulators allow you to do this. Open the TZX image on you chosen ZX Spectrum emulator (e.g. Spectaculator or ZX32) and then click File, Save as and then choose .sna as the file type.

There are stacks of Speccy roms freely available. If you want a good Speccy site goto World of Spectrum They have just about everything Spectrum related games, instructions, old magazine reviews/previews etc, tips, cheats. Really brings back the memories :D

first, Spectrum Games are not ROMS.
Because there are not much cartridge based game exits in spectrum scene. They are tape image files or memory snapshots (maybe second one could be called RAMS but still not ROMS)

Second, many of the spectrum games and utilities at www.worldofspectrum.org (largest zx spectrum archive) are free to distribute and 100% legal.

And third, I'm writing this because I'm so bored today.

Edit: on second thought, maybe spectrum games and utilities at www.worldofspectrum.org aren't free to distrubute, but you can download and use/play them.

World of Spectrum is one of the very few sites to get permission off the companies or programmers.

Theres a few companies (Codemasters and Ultimate) who have said no but the vast majority have said yes.
