I have a nice set of headphones, but for whatever reason my gp2x doesn't produce that good of sound. Are other peoples units like this too?

Also, i cant plug the headphones in all the way because they wont work then. I have to have them a little bit out, and then they work. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mine work fine my only issue is I push them in a ways untill if feels like they;re in but they arnt so I have to give them one more push to get it REALLY in.

Sounds like a problem with the headphone socket. Sound is crystal clear on my unit when using my Koss Portapro headphones.

It was awful the first time i tried but that was because the jack wasnt pushed in all the way.

EDIT: I have Koss speakers, I should try connecting those and see how it sounds. ;P

BTW, word of advice, don't get Koby (Coby?) headphones. Talk about shit in a bag... ;P

Also, the Brookstone Virtual Surround Sound Earplugs sound GREAT with it.

I use Sony headphones... never got this great sound from any other device ever the gp2x headphones sound ownes... Extrem good bas...

The issue that u must have the phones a bit out I have too :p

But the sound is totaly great...!!!

Sound fine with my shure e3's playing Mp3s. Pretty good but not all to great with my headsave classic amp -> AKG K501's, sounds kinda 'flimsy'.

I use the Sony EXL-71 or somesuch, they're the ones that cost about £30 and are generally accepted as the best high street headphones you can get, apart from a few people prefering the Sennheiser MX series. I've got to say that the sound that comes from the GP2X through the headphones is brilliant! Produces a good balanced range of sound, pretty decent bass as far as little earbuds can produce! It sounds better than my iPod Mini, probably because it doesn't try and save power wherever possible like the iPod does.

ewww those headphones are hella wierd. They look like hearing aids.

I just use bulk sony band ones that wrap around my head, since I hate how earbuds dont fit in my ears

They cost like 20bucks USD.. Forget the name since they are so old and warn i cant read anything on em, but boy do they pump out the sound, base and everything sound so clear.

Yeah I just got my GP2X and have the same problem with the headphones having to be a little way pulled out of the jack to produce sound. I think it's mono, too (but that's another story I know). Of course my kick-ass Grado headphones won't fit into the jack because of the flange on the plastic behind the jack.

The crap headphones I used instead of course sound, well, crap.

I fixed this problem by giving one more good shove in. Becareful to not break the headphone jack though.

Sounds like you've never been to Head-Fi. If you want a hobby that will leave your wallet crying for mercy, you might wanna take a look at that site.

i got the sony mdr-ex71's today for £29.99. A bit pricey for in ear headphones.. not QUITE the $900 craziness mind.. but these headphones are amazing! the earbud style totally like does not let any sound leak, almost like being underwater! The bass is fantastic, best i have ever heard on in ear phones.

Well worth the purchase, the only gripe is that its got one longer than the other (the stupid neck wrap style) which sucks coz u got this silver thing just hanging on the left.. oh well. Amazing sound though.

I found that the 2x doesnt give out a good high range sound, bass is fine, high range sounds a bit damp..

Yeah they fit pretty tight at first. I didnt have them all the way in.
Im currently just using a set of apple ipod earbuds. I like them since they are pretty damn small.

crazyness! They are talking about cheap ones ranged at 260$ omg...

There can be no improvement over my headphones, that would be worth the extra 850$ difference anyway...
