Apologies to Pickle if this was flying under the radar for any reason. (I'm starting a new thread for this so that the blog post I'm about to put up doesn't send a heap of traffic into the wrong area.)

If you haven't heard of Sonic Robo Blast 2, it's a fan project built on the Doom engine. It's quite fast paced, and looks like it's stayed pretty true to the classic Sonic feel. From the SRB2 thread in the Wiz dev corner:

QUOTE (Pickle)
Update: its running on the wiz, but with no music, I think I leave it that way. I think theres cycles to spare for it anyway. The game is playable on the wiz
Its also fully working now on the pandora.

Excuse me for being ignorant. I am a big collector of Sonic Games, but i am assuming there is also a Sonic Robo Blast? (meaning Sonic Robo Blast 1)

I have read a bit about Sonic Robo Blast 2 before but not actually played it. Looks fun!

...downloading now. :D

[edit] You may need this .dll: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?cncs32

[edit2] Very cute.
Cool, thanks for the link - downloading now.

I always like to play an original. Certainly on a discovery like this one (with it being sonic). It might seem ott but thats how i like to play sonic games, just in case i missed something.

Thanks for the comments guys. SRB is hard to beat, but eh. It is a complete game. SRB2 still has ways to go, but with the next version coming out soon, it will contain so many new things that it will feel like you are playing a new game. I am fairly active in the community over there since I help out administrating the MB and I am an OP in the irc chatroom.

Cool. I remember back when they were attempting a port to the GP2X. I was really psyched. I don't believe I was ever able to find the port, tho'. However, having it on the Pandora will be even better. Especially if the net play works on the Pandora version. ^_^

Great game!! I really love it!!!

It reminds me when I first find the game 'Sonic Adventure' for Dreamcast. (one of my all time favorite) :D

Sonict, can you re design Sonic's backhead? (hearcut, whatever :p) that's only bother me not much though :)

One of 'must have' for Wizer.

There should be a gp2x version, infact the wiz using almost all of the code from it.

I know there is one. I'm just saying that I was never able to find the binary.

Darn, for some reason my mind read Sonic Blast Man II. Really surprised me for a second. ^^
Sonic + Megaman hybrid? I like! :p

But SRB2 is really fun, can't wait to play it on the go! And I've been hearing how the next version will be really different, can't wait for that too!

Is it just me or are the controls a bit sticky? I feel like when I try and go diagonal then back straight it still keeps going in circles... might just be my big thumbs vs. wiz d-pad though...

I know on the PC and Dreamcast versions I don't have that problem. So, I'd assume it's either your thumbs or specific to the Wiz port.

I'm just happy it got ported over to the Pandora. Now if we had a map editor ported over and working, then it would be interesting. :)

@ Mittens

I didn't make the game. I am just a beta tester for it. AJ (AKA SSNTails) is the person who made those sprites.
