Whoah, not so fast there.Mr.Jabberwocky posted on Apr 6 2006 at 03:37 PM said:There have been over 800 downloads for GP2x hardware SDL. How many times has this been released for updates and bugfixes? If we divide 800 by the number of releases that will give us an idea of how many people are developing with it.
I alone have downloaded it about 5 or 6 times I guess (for my home machine, the office, laptop and a couple of virtual machines I was trying out), and I'm not even actively developing anything for the gp2x yet. I just don't have the time, but I do need a toolchain set up so I can play around with other people's code.
I think the number of active devs really is very small, just because of the massive investment of time it takes to get something good out.
Reesey has put god knows how many hours into DrMDx and yet people are still asking him for 6-button support, overclocking, tv-out, etc. Not too many people really have that much spare time to throw into the gp2x.
Personally, I think what we have so far is amazing. Anything else that turns up will be a plus and if I really want something done, I'll do it myself.
