Is it possible to use cheats in SquidgeSnes? I've copied the .state file to the PC, renamed it to .000 for use with Snes9x, the savefile actually worked, used the cheats, named it back to .state and copied back to my 2X. This doesn't seem to work, as SquidgeSNES restarts the rom when trying to load the .state. Is there any other way possible?

I too tried it with the gameboy with no success.

anyway the way I would do it is not have a code generator in it self (we all got pc's for that) but a basic "action replay" style menu that can read text files with codes in.

That way it uses ALOT less ram than a code generator and it be easy to add more codes by simple copy and paste method.

You can always try obtaining a rom with a built in trainer/cheats (will normally have a 't' at the end of rom name) It sure makes playing the likes of UN Squadron, Cybernator and Legend of the Mystical Ninja easier for me.

Try using an earlier version of Snes9X for the PC. What is most likely happening is that you are using a later version than what was ported for the GP2X, and its saving the file in a new format which the gp2x version doesn't recognise, and thus ignores and starts the game from the beginning.

BTW, The GP2X version of Snes9X has built in support for gamegenie, action replay and goldfinger cheat codes. There's just no way of actually entering the codes :)

cheating is boring anyways...

Not all cheats are designed to make the game easier

for example you can play as sonic or tails in Phantasy star online on the gamecube(offline only otherwise then ur cheating)

In tetris you can speed up the game even more.

in metroid prime you can unlock metroid 1 without having to buy metroid fusion for the GBA (cost effective code)

and much more.
