Should I get a GP32 in 2023, and what programs do you recommend for me to try on it?

Also one more question for tonight about the gp32(i know I should be done already) I know it takes 2 AA battery's but does it work with USA battery's (eg. Duracell, Energizer, Rayovac)?

1,5V alkaline or rechargeable 1,2V NiMh cells are fine. There's also AA cells with Li-Ion tech that can be recharged via USB if that's your fancy.

Alrighty, Thanks for the response =) But enough about thst, Can anyone send me the moviepark files for the GP32 BLU? Sorry if i type this late. but thanks for being a kickass community for the gp32!

Okay first question about the GP32 for today. is GPCinema built in to the system or do i have to copy it to a SMC card? (sorry, im new to this GP32 Stuff). :(

Did you receive the GP32 already and did you try to see if the video works?
No im on vacation now and I have to wait until I get back but on the bright side I may pick up DVDs and rip + convert them to the gp32 when I get home from vacation.

Update: I just got the gp32 unit today. I think it's a blu+ model because when I boot up Dr md it gives me a white line glitch. So I think it's a blu+ going by that. Now to wait for the smc reader tomorrow.

UPDATE: I just got the card reader and transferred my movies to the SMC card, But now i have a con with the player known as gpcinema. it doesn't look as good when im outside. but on the contrary. It looks decent when im inside my house. I think it has to do with the blu+ screen. so if any of you can help me that'll be appreciated. Thanks and happy gaming! =)

UPDATE: so anyways when i play my video on the gp32. It seems to be a bit quiet. Is there any way to increase the volume of the video file in virtualdub? thanks for helping me out with the gp32 in 2025 =-)

It should. You can select that video is just untouched (video: direct stream copy), only audio processing should be done (audio: full processing mode).
In audio select adjust volume, increase it and Save video. Check on GP32 which volume setting sounds best.

Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the suggestion.
PS: What value do you recommend for videos & sorry if i sound like a total noob. im thinking about using my gp32 sometime this month.

If I remember correctly Virtuadub has a weird way of expressing the amplification factor, instead of decibel you directly provide the multiplier.
I think you should try 5.5, and lower that value if it's clipping (1.0 = current level, so values are between min=2 and max=8).
