As I have finaly decided to buy a GP2X (YAAAY :D) I have a question.
I plan to use it for developing, so a serial cable seemed to be quite handy to have.

On the wiki I found a page were they describe how to make one. But I have a few questions.

1) would it be possibe to make/buy something like an EXT => USB cable? because my laptop doesn't have a serial port. So it would be cool if I could just plug it into another USB port. But I guess that would eliminate the whole "serial" idea?
I could buy one of those USB2serial adapters, but I was just wondering.

2) Can these normal serial cables you all use be bought in shops? is this a standard hardware piece? or is this a special cable for the GP2X? Because I'm not that good in soldering and stuff.

Thanks,
Reinout,

Just use gfoot's USB gadgets driver:

Then you can log in over the USB cable that comes in the box.

As a bonus, as well as being able to see and capture all of your debug messages you can also umount the SD card from the GP2X's shell prompt so you don't have to reboot the GP2X between trying builds. That's a huge time (and sanity) saver.
