This might sound crazy but can one make a soft (under windows/*nix...) to convert a GB/GBC/GBA rom to a ARM920T executable file? :unsure:
I dont know if its possible or not but it could be could.
(A friend gave me this idea....lol) :)

Well i suppose you could but it would basically be an emu with the rom embedded into it. Not much point writing an emu for just one game when you could make one for all the games on that system and let people select the game they want.
 
I dont think the idea is silly. If you could convert the rom, you would be able to run most of the CPU "native" and the emulation would be for only the rest of the hardware. This means that the converted rom can run faster than an emulator. This type of idea is actually used in some emulators e.g. Mac emulator BasiliskII where there is a "JIT compiler" which converts 68K code into x86 code. There was a really big speed increase when this feature was implemented in comparison with the old method of interpreting the CPU instruction by instruction.
