RetroVirus (no relation) is a homebrew puzzle game of the match-colours-to-make-them-disappear-ilk. If you like these types of games (and I love them), then you will be very pleased with this game.
The game is easily set apart from others in the genre by the detail that has gone into every aspect of the game, from the funky sounds and the colourful, varied graphics to the well-executed back story.
If you like the gp2x-puzzler, Tilematch, then you will find a lot to like about RetroVirus, and with the amount of features and storyline provided by this game, you may even like it a bit more than that zoo-keeper themed champion.
The good:
- engaging and challenging gameplay
- excellent graphics
- great sound
- superb polish (especially with menus/story mode)
The bad:
- crashed on me once
Overall:
A good puzzle game made great by the impressive technical competence of the designer and coder.
One of the better homebrew games out there.
