im looking at getting a pandora and really like the look of it and the progress seems to be going really well but what relistically can expect the pandora to do in the future how good is this hardware will we be seeing near perfect emlating for the n64 and psx in the near future or is it already pretty good . thanks for any reply

N64 is already pretty good, it can run most games at about full speed but requires overclocking. PSX was pretty good but that was on a really old emulator that's no longer compatible with the current firmware and unfortunately the code was lost so it can't be updated. The present one is kinda good but can be a lot better: zodttd is attempting to port a different emulator that should be even better.

Once the kernel is updated (still many months until that happens though, I think), we should get the ability to play 720p videos as well.

so there is good chance that the psx and n64 emulator will be pretty much full spped and sound in the future give or take a few games. is dreamcast emulator more it can do this rather then playable in the future

o ye and when you say overclocking is it pretty easy to overcloack is the apps tht are pretty easy to do and what can you safly overclock to

Most Pandoras can overclock to 800Mhz with no problem, which seems to be enough for most games. There's a tool built in that will allow you to overclock to as high as 900Mhz, but most Pandoras can't go that fast: if you overclock beyond its limit, the system will freeze and you will need to reset; no other problems have been reported.

It's also possible to increase the voltage to get as high as 1Ghz and while there is a hidden tool that makes it easy with some safety precautions built in, OPT don't officially condone increasing the voltage to get more speed because it can wear out the CPU faster and drains the battery like nobodies business.

edit: oh, Dreamcast, there was a techdemo which showed a lot of promise, but the developers have been waiting on their Pandora for so they may have lost interest in the project. Someone else mentioned taking it up. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Dreamcast emulator eventually, it'll just take a little longer.

For whatever it's worth, in my experience the PSX emulator is already pretty much full-speed, and and some (but not all) N64 games are close to this, also.

That's the thing: It's the future, we don't know. ;) Anything could happen.
