Release Thread: Applications

Nice entries, maybe you might want to add, wich of them are ports or originals, made for the competition.

Just to note that the PND of Imagination contain a directory with the modified source code of my ported application. Thanks

More information about the Gmu release can be found http://wejp.k.vu/gmu/gmu_0_9_0_released'>here. A minor update to the competition release is available http://wejp.k.vu/gmu/gmu_0_9_1_released'>here.

Even better :)

Wej, according to the README, I should be able to put a FLAC plugin in the proper folder in order to be able to play FLAC files. Where could I possibly find such a plugin, I wonder?

If you are talking about the Pandora release, I simply forgot to enable the FLAC decoder. I just updated the build of the 0.9.1 version and included the FLAC decoder. So just redownload it, and you get FLAC support. As for the Caanoo release, currently there are only few decoders enabled, but I'll release a build with some more enabled (including FLAC), once the Caanoo build has been tested a little more. :)

It is very confusing to have these discussions about different Applications here instead of individual threads devoted to each app.

XPlanet looks cool, but how do you configure this?

What angle are you viewing from space?  Do you always see the dayside of the planet?
You are at a fixed latitude/longitude above the planet, which you can change with the lat/lon settings. It is given in degrees.

Try this page for example to get the coordinates of your favourite place:

http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

You can also rotate the planet with the "rotate" value, and rotation is relative to the axis given in the "north" dropdown-menu.

If you leave the pointer above any input field you should get a tool-tip which hopefully explains what each setting does. Also under the "About" window you can access the complete README for Xplanet, which lists all possible command-line options (also those not covered by my frontend, just type them into the "Additional command line options"-field).
