1. The MK2 is about as bright as the DS, but you can adjust the gamma via CPU/LCD tweak.
2. You can zoom in/out as much as you want, it goes pretty far in and out

DS Lite is fairly comparable to a GP2X MK2 (had both side by side in Sam's Club), but I am unsure of the viewing angle. Really? It seems so much brighter than my DS.

I think we will eventually have better, likely in the form of ported applications for other PDA's or PC's running RISC and Linux.
