I'm trying to play samurai shodown 3 on the gngeo emu and even after I tried the dump.gfx trick and replaced the c files with 0 value files, it still says out of memory.. anyone see this before?

I got that when I messed around with my romrc file, do other games work ok?

Did the game work before you dummyied the files?

That game should work with just the original zip and the dumpgfx file!

Do both your .zip and .gfx have the same name? i.e. samsho3.zip & samsho3.gfx.

The dummy files in .zips works fine for games with a .gfx dump, the emulator ignores them.

Having said that I haven't tried Samurai Showdown III, I have played Samurai Showdown IV using this method with no problems whatsoever. :)

Yes, I tried it with both the gfx and the .zip having the same name. Tried another game (metal slug) and it worked fine. Tried downloading another copy (because I own the game  ) and it didn't work either. Going to try Sam 4 to see what happens.

You don't need to do a gfx dump on metal slug 1, it's small enough to run normally. It's only the games that give you an out of memory error that you need to use the utility on. Samurai Showdown 4 should give you no problems, that works just fine with the dummy graphics files in the .zip and .gfx file.
