I always use savestates as raindog mentioned. It's the easiest and safest way to save your game. Yes, the SRAM does not always work but I still use it. It seems if you just turn off the Wiz after doing a SRAM save in game it will not save. Now if you are in Chrono Trigger and save at a save spot, then exit the emulator through the exit command it usually always saves for me. One good thing about SRAM saves is you can use it in other SNES emulators. I go from my Wiz to my Wii transfering the SRAM save. I play it on my TV then on the go I pop the SRAM save in my Wiz.
