Pmenu And Ubuntu Netbook Launcher

what's ruling out a keyboard button combo? and if that's a problem then how can fn be used, as it's on the keyboard (incidentally fn-pandora was the combination I suggested to Jeff)

Isn't it because the pandora button is on some sort of interrupt? If a program freezes or some such all the keyboard keys would do is lock up with it. The pandora button should still act outside the frozen program and be able to kill it.

I think the "hold for a few seconds" solution is a good compromise. Only issue is that holding it for too long performs a hard reset right? You'd have to make sure the time difference between the two actions was significant. Still, this would be the option I would vote for.

no holding it and pushing the power slider performs a hard reset so hold pandora down to kill would work. As i guess would shift or ctrl-pandora as they are on the same lines as the Pandora button.

On my phone for a few days, didnt read much of thread.

You want help on changing the pandora button a bit? Piece of cake

Can certainly tweak a bit o mm, but pleng is right - nothing wrong with pmenu; its great :)

We should ask cpas about it; i think its nearly there, just a couple critical bugs and testing needed

I guess this is one of those "no free time" periods as you are posting from phone :p

Do you think adding some kind of graphic effects like pmenu would be hard? Basically what could be done is to zoom the icons slightly when highlighted (maybe from 60 x 60 to 68 x 68 or something). They could maybe pulsate in and out like pmenu did or something. Also for the selected tab maybe there could be like 5 or so frames that would ping-pong so anyone could create even animated tabs (glow, metal glint, etc). This could be a feature that could be toggled for those that wanted more "bling".

Yeah I know, no time ;) But maybe someday? You could let me know and I would help with it again.

The simple thing would be the kill button. Holding for one second (maybe configurable time) would kill apps instead of instant kill?
