Playing a DVD iso image

Yes it can be done, yes I did it before, it works on factory 500mhz settings lagfree.

On how I did it...

A DVD is basically a disc containing a set of VOB TS movie files... there are freeware tools for PC for merging VOB files... so you can merge the split movie files into a single VOB.

Then just copy the lossfree quality VOB file, usually around 4gb in size, to your Pandora and watch it with Panplayer or the Codecpacks shipped mplayer.

Question answered?

Merging isn't really necessary most of the time... Since the VOBS are generally labeled in alpha-numerical order, most of the time you can just use play folder option on the media player.

You are right but I like having single files for movies. Might just be me.

Although it is good to know that it is possible if you want to spend the time to rip & merge or playback on VOB files - the real question was if a person could simply create an .iso image of a DVD and then mount the .iso image as if it were a DVD player.

I can't see why not - but has anyone done it?
