Update Pax Britannica

Pax Britannica is a one-button real-time strategy game by No Fun Games. Up to four players battle it out underwater, struggling to be the last one standing!

The A, F, H, and L keys control the four players, and the escape key quits. Holding down the button spins the needle on the radial menu in the middle of the player's factory ship. The needle will only travel as far as the player's current resources allow. Resources (gold? seaweed? who knows!) accumulate over time.

Releasing the button creates a ship that corresponds to the quadrant that the needle is pointing at. Ships you spawn fight automatically using the latest in artificial aquatelligence technology. The player who keeps their factory ship alive wins!

This runs slow on pandora GHz but I feel like there is room for better. It feels like Flow and Homeworld, which is odd.
Edit: Better speed with luajit.

thanks, this is an quite nice game for single button usage only! Wasn't aware of this class of games :)

If I may, you should not export LIBGL_FPS=1 in the runscript.

About slowiness, did you try LIBGL_BATCH=1? Also, did you used luajit instead of regular lua? (I don't remember if it's possible with this one, as only lua 5.1 is availble in jit form).

Also, using (X) or some other Pandora buttons instead of 'A' could be nice. (and Left for player 2?).
Of course you may, I appreciate the pointers.

About the FPS=1, I was using it to discover how fast it was running, it doesn't need to be there. I will try BATCH=1 and look into luajit. I'd really like to improve this game so thanks.
