Hi All,

fMSX is a famous emulator of the MSX, MSX2, and MSX2+ 8bit home computers.
It runs MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ software on many different platforms including Windows and Unix.
See http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/ for further informations.

It has been first written by Marat Fayzullin, and later Vincent van Dam ported it on SDL.

Here is a port on Pandora of the version i've previously ported to GP2X-Wiz and other portable consoles.

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

It's distributed under Marat Fayzullin's license for the original MSX part, and under GNU license for all the Pandora part.

Here is a full working binary version :
http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/pandora.cgi?0,0,0,0,72,110

Source code can be found here :

Looking for cheats ? http://romdb.vampier.net/cheats/

Enjoy,

Zx.

Will you eventually add real keyboard support? I do love this emulator to bits :D nostalgia times

You can use the virtual keyboard, but it's not really convenient. I can fix the bug with upper keys, but there are few keys (graph, stop etc ...) that have no mapping on pandora keyboard.

I am a bit lost (sorry I am such a noob) I didnt seem to have any keyboard support only the virtual one and how can you do things as numbers etc. on the virtual one? Or am I doing something completly wrong.

(to switch from one version to another you just need to delete the PND or the whole appdata/msx folder as well?)

When the virtual keyboard is displayed you can't use the pandora keyboard. But when the virtual keyboard is off, then the pandora keyboard is working fine (but no uppercase letter :( ...)
Remove the PND should be good enough.

Okay I'll try :) (later today I am at work right now :p )

maybe Ill make my very first program again :D (it sort of my hello world)

Code:
10 beep
20 goto 10

Or I should go to the more conventional

Code:
10 print "hello world"

:D

You may try this fixed version : (shift keys are working, small bugs have been fixed, and i've removed the splash screen with ice age stuff (copyright issue)).

Nice years those ones ... we were filled with expectations and entertained by a couple of sprites made out of 4 colors ;)

They are, the PND is within the ZIP.

OK. Weird but ok. I'm not going to start another PND vs. Zip flame war.

README, changelog and GNU license are not part of the PND but i want to put them with the binary package version
(as it is nearly always the case with GNU stuff).

PND is a good solution to provide standard package for every apps, but it's not really easy to use at first.
I spent few hours only to build my first PND package (it took me much less time to cross-compile x48 ;) ).
I have to figure out what script to use in all those libpnd folders, compile/install missing tools such as un/squashfs,
fix scripts such as pnd_make.sh to fit my needs etc ...

Nice work zx-81 I've been waiting to have a bit of MSX action and thanks for Hugo aswell. We have so many great devs on here. I just wish we had 48 hours in a day so I can play more games. Right, off to MSX land, thanks again zx-81 :D
