Ot - Help Choosing Linux Distro


I always recommend Mandriva - as someone else said about their recommendation "it just works".
I'm really impressed with it now (and I've been using/developing under UNIX for 25+ years).
Actually I also use Mandriva under VISTA & XP using virtualbox.

I still always recommend Ubuntu, but Mandriva is definitely not a bad choice either. I use it on my netbooks and it is pretty great.

I wish different Distros would start to establish some common standards like universally installable packages (i'm not a fan of package mangement systems, sorry). Anything like this on the horizon?
